Can I try Kommu for free?
Yes. The free plan includes up to 15 properties, announcements, basic fees, neighborhood alarm, and more. No credit card required to sign up.
What does the Premium plan include?
The Premium plan unlocks all modules: QR access control, video surveillance, security patrols, common area reservations, intelligence reports, and more. It includes 15 properties, and each additional property costs $30 MXN/month.
How is access control set up?
From the app, the administrator generates QR codes for security personnel. Guards scan residents' QR codes to log entries and exits. No extra hardware required.
Can I migrate my data from another system?
Yes. Kommu allows you to import properties and maintenance fees from Excel files. You can also add data manually from the app.
Do residents need to download the app?
Kommu works as a native app on iOS and Android, and also as a progressive web app (PWA) from any browser. Residents can choose how to access it.
Can I cancel at any time?
Yes. There are no long-term contracts or penalties. You can cancel your Premium subscription anytime and keep access until the end of your paid period.
Does Kommu work for both horizontal and vertical condominiums?
Yes. Kommu adapts to any type of condominium: apartment towers, gated communities, horizontal condos, residentials, and mixed complexes. The platform lets you configure sections, properties, and common areas to match your community's structure.
How does Kommu help collect maintenance fees?
Kommu generates automatic account statements for each owner, sends payment reminders via push notification and email, and lets residents pay by credit/debit card (via Stripe), bank transfer (SPEI), or register cash payments. The administrator sees in real time who has paid and who has outstanding balances, with detailed delinquency reports.
How secure is the information in Kommu?
Kommu uses 256-bit SSL encryption for all communications, data is hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS) servers, and we comply with Mexico's Federal Law for the Protection of Personal Data (LFPDPPP). Payments are processed through Stripe, certified PCI DSS Level 1, the highest payment security standard.
Does Kommu replace the property manager?
No. Kommu is a tool that empowers property managers, not replaces them. It automates repetitive tasks like fee collection, statement generation, and access control, so the manager can focus on what really matters: managing the community and solving problems.
